Tempo began as a bold vision: to make strength training seamless in the home without compromising aesthetics or performance. Instead of a cold gym machine, we designed something that felt like furniture, inviting, approachable, and proudly on display. Every detail was rooted in harmony with home life, not hidden away in a garage.

Tempo offers immersive coaching with 3D spatial mapping and real-time feedback from expert trainers. Our design challenge was to house a complete training system - weights, barbells, mat, foam roller, 3D sensors, speakers, and a large screen - within a compact, elegant form. Instead of the cold aesthetic typical of gym gear, we prioritized warmth, softness, and a clear connection to the home. The design language draws from both modern furniture and sports design.
Designing for the home meant thinking about more than just appearance, it meant considering safety, stability, and spatial harmony. Bent sheet metal construction balanced fabrication efficiency with a premium finish, while minimized parts reduced complexity while enhancing overall refinement. At just over 2 feet wide and 1.5 feet deep, its small footprint ensures the system fits seamlessly into any shared living space.
The color, material, and finish strategy was key to integration and emotional resonance. Drawing from both home décor and activewear, we created a palette that made fitness feel personal and uplifting. Through collaboration from concept to launch, we helped Tempo evolve from startup to industry leader, redefining what home fitness could be.
