Tempo Move - A compact home gym without compromise.

Tempo Move reimagines at-home fitness by replacing the  original Studio’s hardware with the user’s iPhone and TV. Retailing under $400—compared to $2,495 for the Studio—it opened access to a broader, younger demographic. Compact and modular, Move fit seamlessly into apartments and smaller homes, quickly accounting for 86% of Tempo sales.

Compact home gym.

The form draws from furniture design, blending tactile fabric, warm wood grain, and a neutral palette to complement home interiors without tech-driven visual noise. Move was built to feel like furniture, not equipment. The removable Core holds the iPhone at the ideal angle, while hidden cable routing, soft rubber feet, and compact proportions prioritize calm, livable integration over tech-first intrusiveness.

Designed to store more in less space, Move organizes weights, collars, and accessories within a compact intuitive layout. Fabric doors magnetically wrap the metal frame, opening from either side with soft tabs and ribbed structure. With rapid iteration, physical prototyping, and deep collaboration, Move was imagined and built in just five months.

Materials, colors and finishes were iterated around as we considered how best to create a discrete piece of furniture that could be universally flattering within homes. Fabric swatches were gathered and wood samples inspected until we felt the right combinations had fallen into place.
