level is 9. Each year, our team marks birthdays with a tradition: we create a birthday number in a different medium. This year’s material of choice was cardboard.

Cardboard isn't the fanciest or flashiest option, but that’s exactly the point. It’s one of the materials that we utilize most in the studio because it's fast, flexible and incredibly effective at communicating an idea.

It’s also one of the most crucial steps in our design process. Creating something physical early helps us test assumptions, problem-solve sooner, and align a team around a shared vision. Sometimes the simplest materials tell the clearest story, and this year’s birthday number was a fun reminder of why we love building in 3D.
